Basics:
-
Your browser must allow cookies and pop-ups.
Per default this option is checked to prevent applications to autonomously open further windows (pop-ups). If an application tries to open a pop-up, a message is displayed in the browser window (top) offering options to allow / disallow the application to open pop-ups.
It is possible to allow certain sites to open pop-ups while disallowing all other sites to do so.
Recommendation:
Leave the checkbox checked not to allow applications to open further windows.

Login data:
-
Please choose a username with min. 4 characters and a password with 6 to 16 characters.
-
If you forget your username or password, please enter your email address in the respective field under “Lost your username or password?” and the information will be sent to you.
ABSTRACT submission:
-
In order to pre-register, submit or edit abstracts, please go to the “My account” page – if you do not yet have a user account, first create one.
-
You will be able to submit an abstract and select the type of presentation (poster/verbal presentation) and the corresponding topic once you have pre-registered to the conference and selected the option "I will make a presentation at the conference".
-
The abstract needs to be submitted from the individual presenter’s account. This means the account holder will by default be assumed as the presenter, who is responsible for abstract and final paper submission and at the same time our point of contact for communication. A presenter change is only possible via email request through the contact form. With a change of presenter, the new presenter assumes full responsibility for abstract and final paper submission and serves as our point of contact.
-
FORMAT: Maximum length: 1 page A4, minimum length: 200 characters. Headers or footers, footnotes or corporate stationery cannot be used, nor can logos be included. Copy and paste your text into the abstract field using the editor tool bar to paste from Word or as plain text. Edit or format the text using the toolbar.
-
Save your submission and check the PDF preview which will come up in a new window which might be hidden behind the current window.
-
If your abstract is displayed correctly, please tick the PDF checkboxh which is a pop-up and will only appear after generation of the PDF preview on the original page. You have to exit the PDF preview and go back to the original page.
-
In case you do not see the PDF preview, please check if the problem is caused by a pop-up blocker, or whether the preview is shown in a window hidden behind the currently active one.
IMPORTANT: To complete your submission you have to tick the PDF checkbox and lick on "save" again before closing your browser window, otherwise your submission will be lost.
After successful submission you will receive a confirmation email with a PDF of your abstract. Please make sure to allow receipt of emails from the account conference-organisation@eumetsat.int.
If your abstract is not shown correctly in the PDF preview, please try the following:
-
Copy and paste the text via the clipboard using the toolbar functions (of the editor field toolbar) “Paste from Word” or “Paste as plain text”
-
Edit or format the text using the toolbar buttons
-
For special characters, use the “Insert special character” toolbar button
-
If special characters are not correctly displayed, please use a placeholder instead (for example [micro]) and indicate it in the comment box below the editor field
Once submitted, abstracts and final papers can still be edited/updated online until the deadline for submission. If you wish to make updates at a later stage or withdraw your abstract please send us an email.
FINAL PAPER submission:
-
Please note that only the presenter him/herself can submit a final paper, from their own user account – the name of the account holder will automatically be listed as the presenter name, and this presenter name cannot be changed.
-
Papers for EUMETSAT supported conferences or workshops can only be submitted online and in Adobe PDF format, otherwise EUMETSAT reserves the right to refuse the publication.
-
In order to achieve a consistent appearance of all papers on the CD Rom, all papers should comply with the “Guidelines for the preparation of final papers for EUMETSAT supported conferences”.
-
Please include the title of your paper and the author information in the final paper PDF file you upload.
-
To submit or edit final papers via the EUMETSAT online conference interface, please select “My account” and follow the link “submit a final paper or edit your submission”. Please note that this link will only appear during the final paper submission period and if you are the registered presenter for the presentation held at the conference.
-
A) For conferences or workshops for which the abstracts were submitted online: The titles of your presentations will be listed. Click on “submit” next to the relevant presentation title. The title and author names and affiliations of your related abstract will appear as default information in the respective fields. Please check whether this information is still up to date and amend if necessary.
-
B) For conferences or workshops for which abstracts were NOT submitted online: Follow the link “submit new”. Please enter the title and all author names and affiliations of your final paper into the respective fields and specify, by ticking the checkbox, whether you are also one of the authors of the paper. (Please note that only the presenter him/herself can submit a final paper, from their own user account – the name of the account holder will automatically be listed as the presenter name, and this presenter name cannot be changed.)
-
To submit your final paper, use the “Final paper file upload” function to browse for your final paper and upload it from your computer or CD etc.
-
Select the file you want to upload and click “OK” in the dialog box.
Important: After the dialog box has closed, click "save" at the bottom of the page to save your file. -
Please note that the maximum file size for upload is 8MB. If your file exceeds this size the paper submission form will not close properly or will reload, and the information may be lost.
-
The filename will appear under the title "Final paper file upload". When you click on the filename, you can download your paper to either save or view it.
-
In order to edit your paper later on, click on its filename underneath "Final paper file upload", download your paper, save it to your hard disc, edit it and then upload it again following the steps above. The newly uploaded file will replace the old one.
-
Submitted abstracts and final papers can be edited/updated online during the whole paper submission period. They can, however, only be deleted by e-mail request via the contact form.
